The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Marine Enforcement Unit would like to caution boaters in the local area of dangerous conditions along the waterway due to unprecedented storm activity in the area. The local storms have deposited large amounts of debris which include trees and branches into the waterway. The storms have also caused large amounts of sand and mud to enter the waterway and create hazardous conditions. A Sheriff's Department Patrol Vessel surveyed the conditions and damage along the river on Friday August 30, 2013 at 10:00 am. The water levels are low and exposed rock and sand bars along the river.
Boaters are urged to use extreme caution when navigating the waterways in the area. This would be a good time to check all emergency equipment in your vessel prior to boating. Boaters are encouraged to monitor weather conditions in their area prior to boating.
